I have noticed on some pages, and noticed it again on newsforges.com (an ad that
will likely disappear, so I decided to copy it and duplicate the page on my
site.) that after a quote single or double the text after and until the end of
the displayable line is not displayed.  Playing around with the selection
(highlighting it) allows you to see the hidden text.  Also after creating a temp
page of my own for this bug report the problem is the same but the quote is a
set of strange characters of which was a quote on the newsforge page.  The
problem looks that is has to do with css text formating more than anything

Are you using an Xft build?  I'm guessing you're not, since I think I saw
another similar bug for non-Xft.

I am pretty sure I am using the xft build as I am using the latest debian
mozilla build of which I have the xft library libgfx_gtk.so installed.

Attachment: encoded in iso8859-1 with NCR

the url appears to be utf8 without a charset tag.

This attachment has a iso8859-1 charset tag and the smart quote is a NCR.

Using my non-Xft build I'm unable to reproduce the problem.

Worksforme on my Xft build as well, while using Encoding as iso-8859-1,
windows-1252, or UTF-8.

What does your View | Character Coding say the current encoding is?
