Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3a) Gecko/20021212 I am trying to compose a new mail message. Using either the Compose button or the menu item (new message) result in Mozilla chewing up the CPU for a few minutes before the process dies (if I have not killed it already...). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open mail/news reader 2.click 'Compose' button to create new message 3.Mozilla whirls the cpu, then dies. Actual Results: Mozilla dies Expected Results: should have opened a new window for composing a message.
Reporter: Can you please close mozilla and rename the file XUl.MFASL in your mozilla profile ?
Yes, this works. Renaming XUL.mfasl solved the problem. After renaming, compose window opens fine.
Can you please compress the old file and send it to jrgm@netscape.com ? Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 169777 ***
