Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Twitter app. (I can reproduce in some other apps, but some apps' context menus show different menu items.)
  2. Select some text.
  3. Long press the selected text to open the context menu.
  4. Open the context menu's three-dot sub-menu.

(Firefox is still available in the context menu's "Share" menu.) Why does Focus (and DuckDuckGo) register to be available for context menu search, but Firefox doesn't? I can reproduce on my Samsung Galaxy A32 (Android 13) and Moto G5 (Android 8.1)

Expected behavior

A menu item to search in Firefox, my default browser.

Actual behavior

The three-dot sub-menu lists menu items to search with the selected text in DuckDuckGo, Focus, Focus Beta, and Focus Nightly... but not Firefox, even though Firefox is my default browser.

Device information

I can reproduce on both my Samsung Galaxy A32 (Android 13) and Moto G5 (Android 8.1). I have Firefox 126, Beta 127, Nightly 128, Focus 126, Focus Beta 127, Focus Nightly 128, and the DuckDuckGo browser installed.

Why does Focus (and DuckDuckGo) register to be available for context menu search, but Firefox doesn't?

This was purely an oversight. In Focus we added android.intent.action.PROCESS_TEXT but we never added this during the Fenix re-write.
