Details

While using Retrium, the page started to hangs (see profile link below). On Firefox restart it eventually reached a 502 error, so it was probably a site issue, but it shouldn't have caused the whole browser to freeze and crash.

Profile during the freeze: https://share.firefox.dev/3yQ9J6h

In the profile, the screenshots show about:process which is what I was last on when I started the profiler, but I was unable to switch tabs with the freezing.

Firefox: 128.0a1 (2024-06-02) (64-bit)
Platform: MacOS 14.4 (23E214)

Setting this as S3 until it is reviewed. Unable to reproduce on Windows, though this is a Mac bug

Markus, do you see any freeze in this profile? I do see a 1.5s gap with no frames drawn, but no indication that the browser is unresponsive during that time.

I agree, I can't see any evidence of unresponsive browser UI in the profile.

I don't think there's anything actionable for us here sadly. Let us know if you can ever reproduce this again Jon. This is still concerning.
