User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0
Steps to reproduce:
- Start Firefox (version 129.0a1 as of 15/06/2024, Windows 11)
- Go to any site that requires DRM (primevideo, for example)
Actual results:
The site returns an error about DRM not being active even if Widevine plugin is installed and updated.
The issue occurs since the last 2 nightly updates at the time of this report. Going to https://bitmovin.com/demos/drm indicates Widevine plugin is not active.
I had a laptop not updated to the same Firefox Nightly build. Out of curiosity i first tested Widevine before to update and it was working. Then I installed the last updated and Widevine stopped working.
I created a new profile without any modification to exclude my customizations but the issue is still present.
Expected results:
No DRM error should be prompted and the media content should play without issues.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: GMP' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Can confirm that setting security.sandbox.content.level=7 fixes this issue.
Profile with the "debug" preset: https://share.firefox.dev/3XwKrEe

:bobowen, since you are the author of the regressor, bug 1900175, could you take a look? Also, could you set the severity field?

Sonofapo - thanks for taking the time to report this.
I have a potential fix, but I've asked for bug 1900175 to be backed out for the moment.
