Right now, it is possible to do direct translations using about:translations on Android. It would be ideal to make this easier for users to access or else a way to complete direct translations through a widget or tool.

Ideas on options:
Link to about:translations:

  • Consider improving about:translations to be UI/UX reviewed and update the design
  • Link in Android to about:translations for users to directly translate
    • (There is a bug where about:translations does not work on an emulator. May be worth investigating.)

Custom direct translations:

  • Build Android specific UI to send translation requests in native UI
  • Could even be a homescreen widget or the like
