User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:127.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/127.0
Steps to reproduce:
Open almost any video, live or pre-recorded - doesnt matter (but 1 in 10 videos just plays without problems) the better the quality the more severe the problem is.
Actual results:
I open a video and it can load for 10 minutes, after this slight network activity happens and it loads about 12 sec of buffer. After that it can play w/o problems for about 2 minutes or stop playing immediately. After that cycle continues. In other browsers (edge, opera, chrome, librewolf) on the same computer this problem is missing. Everything plays without any problems.
I tried reinstalling firefox, rebooting pc, rebooting router, troubleshooting mode, using different profile, removing all customization, removing addons, reinstalling windows using firefox with no profile, changing useragent. Nothing helps. Btw problem presists in firefox developer edition but missing in LibreWolf.
Expected results:
youtube video should immediately load or in stats for nerds should be at leasy minimal network activity when buffer health is 0

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Networking' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hi Reporter,
Could you try to record a http log?
In about:logging
, please select Logging to file
and send the log to necko@mozilla.com.
Note that we have another similar bug 1904168, but I can't confirm if these two bugs are the same.
Thanks.
Sent you the log. I dont think that bug 1904168 is similar to my, but idk

Thanks for the log.
It shows that this issue is different from bug 1904168. I can see that several requests are being cancelled by scripts from YouTube. Apart from this, I can't see any networking-related errors in the log.

We've recently fixed some YouTube-related bugs (e.g., bug 1900191). Could you please download the latest Firefox Nightly build and check if you can still reproduce this issue? Thanks.
It seems like the problem is gone in nighty but sometimes i have long initial load, maybe 15 seconds, but i think its just youtube. Also i managed to solve this problem in my usual firefox. I set network.trr.mode in about:config from 0 to 5 which totally disables DoH i think. So maybe the bug you mentioned have something in common with mine
