Seems like the bug exists only in display mode, not also when the url is edited.
It's a small detail, easier to see if using the light theme and following the left/right shadows which do no continue to the bottom or top of the tab.

Added a zoomed in screenshot showing that there are no vertical shadows for the tab shown in the tabstrip.
