Environment:
Operating System: Windows 10 PRO x64
Firefox version: Firefox Nightly 130.0a1 (2024-07-08)

Preconditions:
Clean profile

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Navigate to : https://mail.ru/
  2. Click on the account login button "Войти" located in the top left side of the page
  3. Introduce valid credentials and attempt to login
  4. Observe

Expected Behavior:
The account login is successfully performed

Actual Behavior:
The page asks for the account credentials again, returning an extra security check

Notes:

  • Reproducible regardless of the status of ETP
  • Reproducible on the latest build of Firefox Nightly and Release
  • Works as expected using Chrome
  • The credentials are most of the time not accepted as correct, even if Chrome accepts the same credentials
  • Issue found during WebCompat team [Top100] websites testing

I tried signing up for a mail.ru account and it rejected my phone number as not valid. Raul, do you have credentials that you can share?

I can't reproduce the problem with my account in Nightly 130.0a1 (2024-07-11), neither on Windows or Mac. I've tried with 2 methods of 2 step verification (with a phone number first and then their app+qr code) and it seems to be fine both times.
Wonder if it's still an issue for you, Raul?
