Since I upgraded to redhat 8.0 a week or so ago, the Java plugin from
j2sdk1.4.1_01 stopped working in Mozilla, with the error:
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/local/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
[/usr/local/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol:
GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManager]
I had to revert to the
java2/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so
File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so
Java(TM) Plug-in1.3.1_02
downloaded from the Netscape site.
This one does not work as reliably as the 1.4.1 one used to.
Things worked fine under Redhat 7.3.93 -- does anyone know which Library defines
this GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManage ?
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Symlink /usr/java .... /libjavaplugin_oji.so to /usr/local/mozilla/plugins
2. Start mozilla from a terminal
3.
Actual Results:
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library
/usr/local/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so
[/usr/local/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so: undefined symbol:
GetGlobalServiceManager__16nsServiceManagerPP17nsIServiceManager]
Expected Results:
Loaded the plugin
It may be a problem with one of the RedHat Libraries
