User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0

Steps to reproduce:

Set autoplay of video and audio to blocked.
Load http://news.yahoo.com/
Click on a top story which may contain a video of some kind.
Observe that when the story loads, the video autoplays, despite autoplay being blocked and the info for the site indicating that autoplay is blocked.

Actual results:

Video autoplays.

Expected results:

Video should not have autoplayed.

Additional info: when going directly to the URL of the story that had the autoplaying video, bypassing the front page, the video does not autoplay; thus it would seem that clicking on a link on the front page is an essential part of whatever Yahoo is doing to bypass the blocking of autoplay.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core

Hmm, not able to reproduce this. I tried a few of the top stories linked here, in each case the video did not autoplay.
