Steps to reproduce:

Imgur album where all steps have an image and are enumerated in the description: https://imgur.com/a/Q9fReF7

  1. Have a clean history, example.org isn't suggested
  2. Open a link from inside reddit app in the in-reddit-app browser (powered by firefox)
  3. Enter "example" in the firefox search bar
  4. Delete the only existing entry in the history by going to 3 dots menu > history and clicking on the x icon to delete that one history entry
  5. enter "example" in the firefox search bar again
  6. enter "example.org" in the firefox search bar
  7. look at empty history

Actual results:

After opening a link in reddit app, the page gets suggested even after deleting the history entry for that one page.

Maybe also relevant:
In step 3 only entering "example" showed the suggestion for the page domain itself and also the full page url. But in step 5, 6, only after entering "example.org/" did the second entry (full page url) show up.

Deleting the history by going to 3 dots menu > history and clicking on the trash bin icon to delete all history or by going to settings > delete browsing data, no suggestions for the site are shown anymore

Expected results:

There should be a way to delete all suggestions to the page without deleting the whole history.

Choosing to delete history of like "last hour" or "today and yesterday" is not an option when the page visit was longer ago.

Thanks for reporting this bug. I have a few questions to try to understand this report more clearly. Firstly, while reproducing, I am unable to get the same link as you (https://example.org/abc?a=123). I assume that in order to search in the in-reddit-app browser, you first opened the link in Firefox and then proceeded to search. After opening the link in Firefox from reddit, the website I get is https://example.org. Secondly, I'm not sure what the purpose of typing "example" in step 5 is and then followed by step 6 "example.org". Are you suggesting that besides there being an issue with the history, that there is also an issue with Firefox suggest? Specifically, are you trying to say that the "example.org" result shouldn't be in Firefox suggest since you have already deleted the history? Lastly, I was unable to reproduce the last step of the bug, the history is correctly tracked for me but perhaps I didn't understand your steps to reproduce correctly.

Would you be able to please provide me with a video of you reproducing the bug and what device you are using (along with the android version)? Thanks

Here is a video which shows what I did, also has some commentary but sometimes hard to hear.

I clicked on the link in this reddit post. (The query parameters are made up.)

Yes, in step 5 and 6 the shown results seem to be kind of different than when searching in step 3, but that doesn't really matter.

My point is: Firefox shouldn't suggest/show a page that I removed from the history. Or it should show the page, so I can remove it from the history properly, if it is still saved somewhere, somehow.

I use a OnePlus 8T with OxygenOS 14.0.

With a different link the behavior is different though. With this link, when I click it and it opens in the in-reddit-browser, and I then go to check the history in firefox, it shows two history entries (see new image 8 in imgur). While, in the video or in step/image 4, you can see that there was only one history entry after opening the link in reddit. And with this behavior for the second reddit link, if I delete both history entries, the page is also not suggested anymore when I type "example".
So... first link in reddit results in one history entry and still suggests the page after deleting that history entry, and second link in reddit results in two history entries and deleting both entries stops the page from appearing in results.
