User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0

Steps to reproduce:

The .pdf-viewer does not work for any kind of .pdf. If you open up any .pdf-file, the issue pops up.

Actual results:

The viewer renders incorrectly, flickers, only renders text occasionally and "smears" it around (as if the buffer wasn't cleared). It looks like a graphics issue to me. When I try to shoot a screenshot, even the tool "smears" around in the pdf-viewer section of the screen. The screenshot results in a transparent view of the text of the pdf.

Expected results:

The .pdf should be rendering correctly, without flickering and smearing.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::PDF Viewer' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

:abc013, could you check if setting gfx.canvas.accelerated to false in about:config is fixing your issue ?

Flags: needinfo?(abc013)

Yes, that indeed fixes the issue! Thank you very much. Do you need further information?

Flags: needinfo?(abc013)

It's very likely a dup of bug 1907828.

Attached file about_support_summary

I attached the file you requested. Please keep in mind that I left gfx.canvas.accelerated on false for this export.

Flags: needinfo?(abc013)

I am able to reproduce in Rocky 9 with the flatpak of Firefox (version 128). Seems there are a couple other error reports such as https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/issues/18334

Switching gfx.canvas.accelerated to false or zooming out to 10% both fixed the issue. I am using X11 with the Nvidia 555.42.06 driver.

abc013, could you please retest to see if this behavior persists?

Flags: needinfo?(abc013)

It seems like it's gone, thank you! :D Feel free to close the issue.

Flags: needinfo?(abc013)

Let me correct that, it appeared today again. I do not know what triggered the issue.

:Tom25519, it's very likely not the same issue.
Could you file a new bug for it please ?
Thank you.
