Steps to reproduce:
- enable vertical tabs (sidebar.revamp = true, sidebar.verticalTabs = true)
- open multiple tabs
- Try to drag a tab up or down to rearrange it
This is on arch linux using wayland and kde plasma desktop
Name Firefox
Version 129.0
Build ID 20240806001732
Distribution ID archlinux
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0
OS Linux 6.6.44-3-lts #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue, 06 Aug 2024 07:35:07 +0000
Window Protocol wayland
Desktop Environment kde
Actual results:
If I pick the bottom tab and drag it up, all the tabs above it disappear after the mouse moves a little bit in the click and drag motion. If I move it really slowly, I sometimes see an animation of the icons disappearing to the right side, and sometimes staggered with the lower icons moving first. Releasing the mouse click over any of this empty area results in the tab being move to the very top.
Similar for moving a tab down. If I click and drag on the topmost tab, all the tabs below it disappear when I proceed with the drag motion. If I try multiple times I sometimes see the animation of them disappearing, this time to the left side.
Expected results:
When dragging a tab, the other tabs shouldn't disappear, and it should show a line indicating the new position for you to release the mouse on. You should be able to move a tab up or down any number of slots, not just to the top or the bottom.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Thanks for trying this out and filing the bug. It looks like this got fixed in bug 1893656, which is in version 130.
