User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030129 Chimera/0.6+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20030129 Chimera/0.6+
I "cloned" my system on a new hard disk. I then booted from the clone, and
launched navigator. When my former disk is mounted, everything works fine, but
when it is unmounted, chimera doesn't find its prefs files, even though every
single file is at the same place. Remount the disk and re-relaunch and
everything's back.
I guess that it doesn't use unix absolute paths ?
(/Users/xxx/Library/..../prefs.js) but uses volume names ??.
the symptoms are that my toolbar bookmark zone is empty, and no bookmark is
available at all. And no file is modified (checked after quitting) in the
new(cloned) profile directory.
PS I checked for permission errors etc and everything is as it should be
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. use carbon copy cloner to clone your system, then boot from it
2. unmount your former hd, then launch chimera
3. quit, mount the former disk, then launch and everything's back
(of course use different names for each disk)
Actual Results:
see details
Expected Results:
used the profile that was in my home path.
what would happen if I was to erase my former disk ? would my profile be lost ?
