Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0

Steps to reproduce:

I changed "browser.link.open_newwindow" to 1 to prevent bad sites to open new tabs on a normal click.

I opened site https://www.ozon.ru/search/?deny_category_prediction=true&from_global=true&text=%D0%92%D0%BD%D1%83%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B9+%D0%B6%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B9+%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BA&product_id=1576343163

Wheel-clicked on a picture in the left under "Этот товар закончился".

Actual results:

The link opened in the current tab.

Expected results:

It should open it in a new tab.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Toolkit::Picture-in-Picture' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Picture-in-Picture
Product: Firefox → Toolkit

Also I found one link on this site, clicking on which with CTRL+LMB opens it in current tab! But wheel-click opens a new tab. But this link in personal cabinet of my account, so I can't post the link to the page.

Found one more link on another sile, where CTRL+LMB opens in current tab, and wheel-click opens a new tab. But this link in personal cabinet of my account too.

There is definitely something wrong with firefox!

BugBot mistriaged since this bug isn't PiP component related. I think Firefox :: Tabbed Browser might be the better place to start.
