Manually enter login details without password - not allowed

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:129.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/129.0

Steps to reproduce:

I tried to manually enter new login details, but without a password (I want Fx to remember the username only as the 1-time password changes each time)

Actual results:

Fx does not allow saving until a password is entered
If a false password is entered, Fx does not allow subsequent deletion of that password then saving.

Expected results:

Login details can be saved as a password only; the same should be true for username only.
This should probably be the case for automatic detection and saving of usernames, but I can see this causing UX difficulties at some sites. As a first move, allowing manual entries would be beneficial.

Thanks!
