Thanks for moving my issue here. I have some update about this issue.

  1. This issue happens not only from drag and drop, also when you pick from file manager.
  2. I found that this only happen on picture with size >100KB i believe, last time I tried this on 17KB and 31KB; it doesnt laggin. but on >100KB image it will.
  3. this issue also happen when you send multiple image (small image and big image), the small image doesnt laggin but the big image will.
  4. this issue only happen when you send image as image, not as file--hope you understand what I mean. when I try send a file size >100MB doesnt laggin.

Sounds like a performance issue.

I can't reproduce any lagging on my machine. Could you collect a performance profile using https://profiler.firefox.com/ and share the link here?

Me too, I can't reproduce this bug anymore. I rarely use web.whatsapp.com so I don't know when this bug doesn't happen anymore.

Tested with the PC I used to open the issue on Github.
