191610 - Mozilla locks when opening Composer

All components of Mozilla lock when selecting Composer from the Window drop-down
menu, or Edit Page from the File menu.  Problem is highly reproducible. 
Re-occurs after re-installing Mozilla.  The URL doesn't matter.  Must
ctrl-alt-del and end task on Mozilla (not responding).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Attempt to start composer
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
All components of Mozilla frozen.  No crash to produce a report.

Expected Results:  
Open composer.

I'm happy to supply further info about my desktop, but I'm not sure what
specifically is relevant.

close mozilla including quicklaunch and after that delete the file "xul.mfl" in
your mozilla user-profile
