This is from weekly mobile review summary
“Suddenly the back button has disappeared. This is a real pain”
It could be that on original toolbar/addressbar menu back and forward is not showing. Can't reproduce, but investigate in code to see if there's a corner case possibility.

As far as I know, original implementation of the toolbar for phones never had navigation buttons in landscape.

I think this bug is addressing a bug where if the Navigation Toolbar is disabled, the original toolbar menu's navigation buttons disappear.
