Affected versions

  • Firefox 131.0b4
  • Firefox 130
  • Firefox 128.2.0esr
  • Firefox 115.15.0esr

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: macOS 15

Preconditions

  • Go To Safari -> Safari Extensions... -> Passwords tab -> Click "X" from the upper right corner of the
"All your passwords in one place" dialog.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Go to File > Import From Another Browser and follow the instructions

Expected result

  • The import instructions should be clear and accurate, allowing the user to successfully import bookmarks, passwords, and history.

Actual result

  • In the "Import Passwords from Safari" card, the user is instructed to go to Safari > Preferences > Passwords. However, with the new implementation of the Passwords app in Sequoia, the UI has changed. If the user accidentally clicks the "X" button, believing this will dismiss the "All your passwords in one place" dialog, the Passwords tab in Safari will no longer be visible. This makes the instructions in the Import Passwords card in Firefox unusable.

Regression range

  • Not a regression.
