Steps to reproduce:
Start typing out what was the major event in 19
into your address bar.
Actual results:
Firefox shows 3 Google autocomplete suggestions with the same trimmed text: "what was the biggest event in 19..."
Users are upset with this behavior:
This gets really annoying when I'm trying to search something at all long because I can't see what it is autocompleting.
Expected results:
When a search engine offers multiple autocomplete suggestions that start with the same exact text, Firefox could trim the first part of the queries instead:
- ... biggest event in 1960
- ... biggest event in 1970
- ... biggest event in 1920
