Notes

• Reloading the page solves the issue.
• The issue seems to be intermittent; easiest to reproduce when launching Firefox in a new session.
• Issue is reproducible with both regular and container tabs.

Preconditions

• Have browser.urlbar.scotchBonnet.enableOverride set to true

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch Firefox.
2. Open different websites in each container tab( Personal, Shopping, Work, Banking).
3. In a new tab, from the Dedicated Search Button, select ‘Tabs’.
4. Observe the address bar section.

Expected result

• All tabs have the Switch to tab button option.

Actual result

• Switch to tab button is missing.

Regression range

• Not a regression.

I tried many times to reproduce this issue on OSX and Windows, but it did not happen.. Is this still reproducible??

I can still reproduce this bug - intermittently - on both Windows 10 and macOS 14 on a 2024-09-17 Nightly build. Another colleague also confirmed the issue on another Windows 10 machine. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help, thank you.

I suspect the problem is new switch to tab results are not correctly managing DOM reuse in UrlbarView. To avoid flicker new results can reuse the DOM from an existing result, IIRC we do some special handling for tab results, and there is probably some missing handling there for secondary action buttons.
