Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux; i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021003 Mozilla appears to load fine (homepage set to Google) but when I enter text in the address bar, the browser crashes immediately (usually before I finish typing "www"). Attempted to workaround by entering text into Google's search engine, and but then again as soon as I hit enter, down goes Mozilla. Same with bookmarks. I do not have this problem as root, and deleting history.dat and localstore.rdf did not help. No error messages, the browser simply dissappears. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load Mozilla 2. Try to navigate (by address bar, search engine, or bookmarks) Actual Results: CRASH Expected Results: NO CRASH Running GNOME under Redhat 8.0 build 2.4.18-24.8.0
An October build is too old to report bugs on unless you can reproduce them with a newer build (a *lot* of crasher bugs will have been fixed since then). If you want someone to help fix the problem (which seems to be permissions related) you could ask over at http://www.mozillazine.org/forums
Ack. You might not *actually* be using the October build of course if that crashes all the time. So it would be helpful to know which build you are using (if it's not the one you reported the bug with).Sorry for the spam.
-> invalid (build older than 2 weeks)
