User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 When a maximized mail window is opened using the new mail notification icon (by double-clicking the envelope icon), it fills the screen and covers up the Windows taskbar, even though the taskbar is set to always on top. Also, the Restore button is disabled (although the window can be restored to a non-maximized state by double-clicking its title bar). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set the Windows taskbar to always on top, and set autohide off. 2. Open the mail/newsgroups app, maximize the window, then close it. 3. Receive a new mail notification (ie. by sending yourself a message). 4. Double-click the notification icon on the taskbar. Actual Results: The mail/newsgroup app opens. It's maximized, but fills the entire screen (covering up the Windows taskbar). The Restore button in the upper right is disabled. Expected Results: The mail app should open, maximized -- but not covering the taskbar -- and with a working Restore button. I have only tested this using the Modern theme, and only on WinXP. I believe this problem has existed since Mozilla 1.0, possibly earlier (my memory fails me).
I just tested it again, this time using the Classic theme. This time it filled the entire screen (just as with the Modern theme), though the taskbar remained on top (so Mozilla's status bar was hidden behind the taskbar). Clicking on the mail window caused it to move in front of the taskbar. The Restore button behaves identically as with the Modern theme.
Apparently the position of the mail window varies when using the Classic theme. Twice, it appeared below the taskbar when opening it from the notification icon, and once it's appeared above.
I'm still seeing this with 1.3 final (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312). In fact, the issue is *worse* than it was.. I had this happening intermittently in 1.2.1, but previously it was always correctable by restarting Mozilla. That is NOT working now. When I maximize the window, it maximizes to the entire screen height, ignoring the taskbar. This is with the Modern Theme. Confirming.
