Steps to reproduce:

Preparation
a. Uninstall any instance of Firefox app, and re-install the version with which the issue happens. (*1)
b. Open the Firefox app. Skip everything during the setup wizard.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enter the URL of the web site (*2) and open it.
  2. Try to log in by manually entering the username and the password.
  3. You are asked to save the password. Press the Save button.
  4. In the same site, navigate to the web page where the second password is required.
  5. Tap on the textbox for the second password.
  6. You are asked to create a strong password. Press the Not now button, and enter your second password manually.
  7. Again, you are asked to save the password. You notice the username box is empty ("Username" is displayed as a placeholder.), and the password is already entered. Press the Save button.
  8. Do Steps 4 and 5 again.

(*1)
The issue is seen on versions:

  • 130.0.1 Build #2016044751 (confirmed on iPlay50 mini and Pixel 6a)
  • Nightly 132.0a1 Build #2016046215 (confirmed on iPlay50 mini)
  • Nightly 132.0a1 Build #2016046975 (confirmed on iPlay50 mini)

The issue is not seen on versions:

  • 129.0 Build #2016035991 (confirmed on iPlay50 mini and Pixel 6a)
  • 129.0.2 Build #2016039455 (confirmed on iPlay 50 mini)

OS / Device

  • Android 13 on Alldocube iPlay50 mini (Tablet)
  • Android 14 on Pixel 6a

(*2) The site URL is https://www.sbisec.co.jp
This site requires the username and the password, and it also requires the second password to confirm a transaction execution. Hence, the password manager will have an entry including both the username and the password, and another entry including only the second password with no username.

Actual results:

"Use strong password" is always displayed and I can't select the saved password.

Expected results:

Firefox app offers the saved password so that I can select it.

Notes:

  • The issue occurs whenever trying to enter the second password in the site.
  • The issue occurs whether or not the app is synchronized with the Firefox account.
  • Google Chrome app does not have the issue. The screenshot is in the attachment.
