When clicking the Firefox icon in the taskbar, a second icon opens instead of the pinned icon. When trying to pin this particular icon, Firefox throws an error (see attachment). This does not happen when opening Firefox from a desktop icon or from the applications menu.
This appears to be linked to the version that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, as there is a clear difference between the behaviors for the MS Store version and the regular version. See videos illustrating the difference below.

MS Store version behavior: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmqaAB0VuLdBgb9r--5UMmNISKI3_w?e=ddoNgz
Regular Firefox behavior: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmqaAB0VuLdBgb9sDW4yDL7teHZ2oA?e=eXe82D

Happens in Windows 11, not sure about W10.

Hi Mark, thank you for reporting this issue! Can you provide a little more information to help us find a fix?

  1. Do you see this issue happening only when you have both the MS Store and the regular Firefox installed at the same time? Or is this always an issue when you use the MS Store version?

  2. I didn't see in your videos where the error message is displayed. Can you show the steps leading to the error in another video?

Hi Chris, I shared the info I received from a user reporting the issue on the SUMO forum - I will ask them for more detail.

This should be resolved and fix shipped in Fx131.0.3.
