The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Sorry, missed that this was about version 128, so clearly different issue.
I assume it's the 128 ESR version?
- Select Bookmarks to be visible
Can you clarify exactly what you do in this step?
- Bookmarks icon disappears from the sidebar
Can you add a screenshot of the bookmarks icon in the sidebar?

Yes, I use the latest ESR.
- Select Bookmarks to be visible
Can you clarify exactly what you do in this step?
Sure. When I check Bookmarks to make it visible on the sidebar then restart the browser, this setting will goes back to default state. Also I discovered that when I close the setting panel then reopen it, it will be unchecked immediately, while the bookmark icon remains visible on the sidebar until I restart the browser.
(The screenshot covers these)
- Bookmarks icon disappears from the sidebar
Can you add a screenshot of the bookmarks icon in the sidebar?
Sure! screenshot - hope it works.

Thanks for the screenshot (you can use the Attach new file
button above your comment to attach images, files, etc.).
Now I understand why I was confused: looks like you manually changed a pref in about:config to get this (sidebar.revamp
)? While I can confirm the buggy behavior, this is not a feature supported in 128, so I'd expect the bug to be a WONTFIX. Moving to the right component for triage though.

Yes, I enabled this feature that way. ESR 128 will be around for a while so that would be nice if they would fix this anyway.

We are not likely to uplift a fix into 128 - this is all behind a default-off pref. This might get fixed by bug 1908019. Also possibly a dupe of 1922777?
