User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:133.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/133.0
Steps to reproduce:
Request for the addition of an API in the WebExtensions framework to allow developers to disable Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation for specific scripts or contexts. This feature would enable better control over performance and security for extensions that require precise execution environments, particularly for security-focused applications or for debugging purposes.
Actual results:
Currently, there is no such API available in the WebExtensions framework, limiting developers' ability to manage script execution environments effectively.
Expected results:
An API method (e.g., browser.runtime.disableJIT()) that allows developers to toggle JIT compilation on or off for their extension’s scripts, with appropriate documentation and usage guidelines.
