Details

Firefox 131.0.2 and 133.0a1 20241010092233 on Windows 10, tested with two different internet connections, each time with a new Firefox profile.

The first page visit to a tiktok.com page works as expected, e.g. plays the video. The second page visited in a new tab will show a captcha consisting of an outer and inner circle with a slider below. The slider is supposed to get dragged from left to right until the inner and outer circle have rotated into the correct position and their content forms a single image.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Firefox (e.g. with a new profile).
  2. Visit https://www.tiktok.com/@papercutter1/video/7419723781813423393
  3. Open a new tab.
  4. Visit https://www.tiktok.com/@safe.education
Actual result: Captcha shown, dragging slider does nothing: neither shows its position as moving nor spins the circles.
Expected result: slider position shown as moving, circles spin

Can confirm we've also encountered this problem in Firefox 128.3.1esr. Also interesting detail, if you switch to responsive design mode and enable touchscreen simulation, the slider does work.

Let's close this as a duplicate in favor of 1924500, even if this was the first report. I am part of the Webcompat team and I will mention this issue further to our team
