Firefox for Android
Steps to reproduce:
I attempted to sync my Firefox on Android to my Firefox on my desktop to get the new tabs and bookmarks I'd created on each device. However, my Firefox for Android is stuck on this whenever I try to sync. I've tried logging out and back in, clearing my cache and app storage, checked my Android settings - no avail. Everything was working fine before and it's just randomly not now.
Steps to reproduce:
Have some tabs open on Android Firefox
Go to the sync functionality
Press sync and wait
Actual results:
Nothing happened at all, my phone was just stuck on Syncing... as shown in the screenshot.
Expected results:
My data should have synced properly and be available on so my devices.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Fenix::Accounts and Sync' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Hey Charlotte,
Did the tabs ever eventually sync? Or are you perpetually stuck in this syncing state?

Hi, there was another bug raised (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1929013) where I couldn't sign into my Firefox account. Getting that working again did allow me to sync using my other devices, but even now, whenever I try to initiate a sync on my Android device, it still gets stuck on Syncing.
So, my workaround is just to use something else and wait until it catches up. But yeah, being able to sync from my phone again would be great 😅

Hi Charlotte! Would you happen to have adb or Android Studio installed? Getting sync logs from Firefox for Android is a little clunky (sorry! 😔), but we have instructions for how to do that—if you're comfortable with trying that out, it would be a great help for figuring out where it gets stuck.
(For Desktop, we have the About Sync add-on, which can set Desktop's logging preferences automatically, and show you what's stored on the Sync server—but Sync logging and debugging on Android is a lot more manual, unfortunately).
I was also wondering, has your Android device synced successfully since the first time you signed in?
Thanks!

Hi Lina, yes I've got Studio and I'll try to follow the instructions.
It does seem like my device is actually syncing now though, not sure when it fixed itself or what the cause was though.

Oh, I stand corrected, it's doing it again haha. But I did manage to get some logs :) I'll attach them here, not sure how much help they'll be.

Thanks for the logs! They show everything working correctly (ie, sync is running, working correctly and finishing after a few seconds). I guess there's something odd with the app tracking the state (eg, not reacting correctly to sync stopping or something).
