User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; de-AT; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; de-AT; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 Excerpts from a message in newsgroup netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news, Subject: header display problems in 1.2.1 I upgraded to mozilla 1.2.1 and now the mail headers appear in the same pane as the message body and simply have different shades of gray as backgrounds. URLs aren't linked, and the attachment pane doesn't appear. In each version of Mozilla 1.2 there is no head line in the mail program. The adresses are in the body and there's no attachment to click. If I open the message it's blank. I deinstalled Moz and tried everything. Even in 1.3a the problem is there. 1.1 works fine. After deleting the profile and setting up a new one, everything is fine again. Removing XUl.mfl doesn't help. The strange thing is that Mozilla 1.2.1 was working fine until I switched on this morning, when it suddenly developed exactly that problem. Something must have gone seriously wrong, because at the time it developed this problem, it rebuilt all the index files for the mail folders. I don't remember having any system crash. Moving back to Mozilla 1.1 solves the problem; re-migrating to Mozilla 1.3b by me produced the same error, however. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: This happens in Mozilla builds 1.2.1 and above. No other way to view mail is possible. Actual Results: See screenshot.
I'm seeing exactly the same problem since I switched from 1.3a to 1.3b, but with the english language pack & Win98. Is there a workaround or anything, as I wouldn't like to delete my profile because of that. btw: switching themes doesn't help.
Seems to me a dupe of bug 186295. Deleting the lower (junky) part of abook.mab resolved the problem in my case. Dunno how that junk came there, though. Ralf: Does that help you, too ?

Deleting the binary part of abook.mab (after I found the right one - Mozilla seems to make quite a chaos in using multiple profile folders for the same profile by me - I prefer my profile folders NOT in c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\user\mozilla) eliminated the problem for me, too. I marked the bug as duplicate of the other one. Now I hope they find a way to fix the address book.
