Here is the issue on AAM: https://github.com/w3c/aria/pull/2362
We are merging this change into the AAM even though the API will not be used yet by VoiceOver. You could considering this a backlog issue, or, if you would like, get it out of the way now since VoiceOver will eventually/probably do something with this value. Chrome is exposing it.
