Steps to reproduce:

  • Open Firefox View
  • Press Esc

Actual results:

Nothing.

Expected results:

It should close Firefox View and take you back to your previous tab.

Rationale:

  • Firefox View acts like a modal window. It covers your previous tab, but doesn't have tab/window controls of its own
  • There's currently no way to close Firefox View and go back to the previous tab. If you have too many tabs, it's hard to find your previous tab again
  • Esc is a universal shortcut to close modal windows and get back to what you were doing
