Steps to reproduce:
Scroll down a long webpage, then scroll up in multiple short strokes (to increase chances of reproduction)
Actual results:
When scrolling up, it randomly jerks the page a few pixels, then stops. Even though my finger is still moving, the page is no longer moving with my finger.

This is the website used in the example video, though the problem can happen on any website.

The problem occurs much, much more frequently on nightly. However, I can still reproduce less frequently on the latest stable release 133. Scrolling only halts like displayed in the video when scrolling upwards.
Pull to refresh and scroll to hide toolbar settings are disabled in the customization menu.

Hey there, thanks for the report! How many tabs do you typically have open? Wondering if this is potentially a memory pressure issue, as our team is struggling to reproduce it. What device are you using?

Pixel 9, Android 15. I am able to reproduce right after restarting the phone, no tabs, so I do not suspect a memory issue. I also use the smooth display mode (120hz).

This is acting more like an input handling error bug, for example, why would a memory issue only affect scrolling upwards and not downwards? And it's not like the page stops working, it just stops the scroll.

I was just able for the first time to reproduce this problem in other apps on the phone besides Firefox, so it is definitely an OS bug.

I also encountered this error. I thought it was because of the phone, but apparently it's not.I think a more thorough investigation is needed.

You're saying Firefox can cause this behavior in other apps? I was experiencing it in the system settings, the app list on the launcher, Discord, etc.
It's not always there, but a few minutes ago it happened and I was able to get it to consistently lock up when my finger starts the scroll from the center of the screen (vertically). If my finger used the top or bottom of the screen it wouldn't lock up. Also, I tried a reboot and the problem went away.

No, Firefox shouldn't be able to cause this behavior in other apps but it is interesting that ours is affected. :eclaudiu64 are you also on Android 15?
