User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210

Just because IE grabs file associations like PNG, JPEG, GIF, and other image
formats, it doesn't necessarily mean that Mozilla should do the same by default,
if the user wants Mozilla to be the default *web browser*.

Most people have a basic image reading/editing program installed, so by default,
Mozilla should not grab those filetypes if it is chosen to be the default web
browser.

I think it should grab:

*.htm*
(other file associations specific to mozilla exclusively such as *.xul)

protocols:

http:
https:
ftp:

It is tedious work to sort out my file associations back to Paint Shop Pro every
time I reinstall Mozilla.

(Admittedly Mozilla isn't anywhere near as bad as some other apps, like
RealPlayer, but well-behaved apps are nicer :-))

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. re/install mozilla
2. make it the default browser
3. notice how it has taken file associations for file formats that aren't at
all exclusive to web browsing.
You can set all these file associations in Preferences->Advanced->System

@ Chris Lyon

I am disputing what its default behaviour is when you allow it to be the default
web browser.
(disputing what it *should be* not *is*) :-)
