User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:133.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/133.0
Steps to reproduce:
OS: FreeBSD 14.2, Firefox compiled from ports.
Removing ~/.mozilla and ~/.cache/mozilla, i.e., starting from scratch.
Opening more than about 20 youtube pages of the form "https://www.youtube.com/@<organization>/videos" one after the other in a single tab (in this case, there are 96 different pages).
Note that no video is ever played - just opening the .../videos pages one after another.
The purpose of this operation is to check for new videos on interesting channels.
Actual results:
The first few pages load quickly enough, but later on Firefox produces a high load and becomes very sluggish. This happens even when the page seemingly has already loaded completely before pasting the next URL into the URL bar.
Note the pages are loaded in sequence in a single tab.
This can be repeated every time Firefox is restarted - the first pages load quickly, then high load and sluggishness.
Expected results:
After displaying one of the .../videos pages, the CPU consumption by Firefox should quickly go back, and loading of the next URL should be quick.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Audio/Video: Playback' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

The severity field is not set for this bug.
:jimm, could you have a look please?
For more information, please visit BugBot documentation.
I have just compiled and installed 134.0.1. Judging by the responsiveness, maybe this bug here has been fixed or at least improved by the resolution of bug 1939295?
