Steps to reproduce:
- Copy some image to the clipboard in Paint.NET.
- Paste it into a field that accepts image input (eg. a GMail message or a Facebook status) in Firefox.
It is unclear whether Paint.NET, Firefox, or both, is responsbile for this bug. The bug neither occurs when copy-pasting from MS Paint to Firefox; nor when copy-pasting from Paint.NET to Edge. For this reason I have reported it to both apps' teams.
This bug has existed for quite some time now, over multiple updates of both Paint.NET and Firefox. I do recall it working correctly in the further past.
Actual results:
The image is corrupted (see attachment). The original image that was uploaded to produce this was just the alternating shade squares (no black line at the top, no misalignment near the right).
Expected results:
The image data should paste correctly.

To add to this: It's only from Paint.NET, to Firefox, that has a problem. Copy-pasting an image from Firefox to Paint.NET works fine.

This is the result of pasting the image into Firefox from Paint.NET. The original image was simply alternating squares in these two colors, with all squares being exactly 32x32 (no black line on the top, no weirdness on the right, no cut-off on the left).

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::DOM: Copy & Paste and Drag & Drop' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

I tried with an image, and it got pasted correctly in Gmail compose window.
Can you:
- In your Firefox browser go to "about:support" and copy-paste its contents here
- Attach a sample input image that repros this issue for you?

Is there anything in particular I'm looking for in about:support? A bit unsure about pasting the whole thing publicly...
The issue occurs with literally any image (or part thereof) that is copy-pasted from Paint.NET. To be clear, I am talking about copying actual image data to the clipboard; not "copy a file made in Paint.NET". There is no such thing as an image that I can copy-paste from Paint.NET and not have this issue.
