YouTube playback will break and the video on https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/video doesn't work either.

This has happened on my wife's laptop multiple times. https://share.firefox.dev/4aldgbr

I noticed that there are about ~700 AppleVTDecoderCallback threads in the RDD process. That seems like too much.

IIRC, the AppleVTDecoderCallback should be on the same (system) thread. If there are ~700 callback threads, maybe Gecko repeatedly creates new decoders and tries to decode? Some logs might be helpful.

Any chance you can try to reproduce this with profiling and logging?
