The interaction between the selected day in the main calendar view and the minimonth seems a bit weird

Today is January 29, but when I start Thunderbird and go to the calendar tab the mini month has February selected. This doesn't feel right.
I use the multi-week view. Because it's near the end of January, the view has more days of February than it does of January and that's how the code decides what month to display in the mini month. The same is true even if I have the previous week showing, so the main view begins with 12 days of January and the mini month displays February. It's possible to have March 9 selected in the main view with February in the mini month.
In the month view, it makes a bit more sense. The mini month should show the same month as the main view.
In the day and week views, the mini month follows the selected day.
