Details
(Whiteboard: [fidefe-sidebar])
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:136.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/136.0
Steps to reproduce:
- In earlier versions of Firefox, prior to the introduction of vertical tabs (possibly version 135 or earlier), open the history panel.
- Conduct a search within the history panel.
- Try using Ctrl+A to select multiple search results.
Actual results:
Starting with Firefox version 136, the ability to use Ctrl+A for selecting multiple search results in the history panel seems to have been removed. This change makes it a bit challenging to manage and clean specific browser history items found through a search query.
Expected results:
It would be greatly appreciated if the history panel in the updated interface could support Ctrl+A and other keyboard shortcuts (like Shift and Ctrl) for multi-selection purposes. This enhancement would help users efficiently manage their browser history.

The history panel and sidebar are still under development - that's why its been behind the sidebar.revamp pref and only exposed to a small group of users via an experiment or Firefox Labs. We are planning on improving keyboard navigation for history.
Johnny, when you say "starting from 136" do you mean that is when you starting using the new history with sidebar.revamp flipped to true and noticed the shortcut issue?

Yes, this problem appears to be linked to the recent revamp. It seems that the new sidebar.verticalTabs
feature is part of the update, which is why I've encountered this issue. The option to "Turn on Vertical Tabs" is directly available in the sidebar context menu, rather than through Firefox Lab.

Vertical tabs doesn't have anything to do with the new history, but yes it is only available in the sidebar which is why there are multiple ways to turn it on requiring the use of the sidebar.
