Provide an optional function to test the sender or other attributes of incoming
messages against the addresses or other attributes in an address book, and for
those not matching provide the options to:
1. Manually accept, optionally adding the address to the "acceptable" list.
2. Send an email to the sender, asking him to confirm that he sent it and that
it is not spam. If he confirms, the return message releases the original one for
the user to read.

Any further action on this? It is still a priority for me, as it is a constant
chore.

Yes I agree, this is close enough to bug 187044 to be considered a duplicate. That has functions for whitelisting and user confirmation. Marking as duplicate.
