does biff make sense for news?

currently we have UI for it in account manager

and on biff, we'll update the unread counts (as if the user had expanded the
server twisty)

but that's not really biff, or is it?

should we hide the ui? fix news biff? future.
futuring, news gets no love.

I suppose this is beauty in the eye of the beholder. Someone spending a couple
hours a day on Usenet would love it. A more typical user probably wouldn't notice.

However, just because I'm on Usenet doesn't mean I don't want to know there's
incoming mail awaiting.
