RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 176514

People

(Reporter: gveiga, Assigned: blizzard)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030211
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030211

Keyboard entry of accented characters no longer works after upgrading to 1.3b.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Define a "Compose Key" via xmodmap
2. Open Composer
3. Try entering an accented character.

Actual Results:
Attempted to enter "á" and get "'a". The compose key is ignored. Under RH8,
you can also redefine the keyboard as "US Iternational" (similar to MSWindows).
Input of the "Composed: characters is still not possible.
.

Expected Results:
I recently switched from Mozilla 1.3a to 1.3b. Keyboard entry worked in 1.3a.
To blizzard. This is already filed.

How I wish for a "gtk2/xft/rh8 breakage" component....

Where is the bug filed? I'd like to track the main one.

For the record, this happens in RH8.1 beta too.
If I knew offhand, I would have just marked this duplicate. Feel free to search
bugzilla. ;)
Tried that already :) Buggered if I could find it either.
<sigh>. You have to search resolved bugs too; then you find already-marked
duplicates....

Eh? That's a duplicate of this bug? I'd never have worked that out. I also don't
understand what you mean by your comment - the thing this is apparently a
duplicate of is marked as NEW.
I mean that other duplicates of that bug are clearly duplicates of this one, so
if you searched resolved bugs you would have found them....
