Steps to reproduce:

Updated mobile Firefox on Android to version 136.

Actual results:

Order of bookmarks and folders within a bookmarks folder appears completely random, neither respecting my manual order, nor by name, created or updated date. The order is still OK on my laptop, which is still on version 135, I hope it doesn't happen there, too.

Expected results:

Same order as before.

Either I can't find it in this different order or my bookmarks folder with an empty name is also gone.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Fenix::Bookmarks' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Oh, that's a weird name. And there's a "Firefox for iOS" category, but not a "Firefox for Android" category, so that was extra confusing.

Hi! Thanks for filing this issue!
Your bookmarks order might be changed due to the new implemented feature on Android which displays the bookmarks (or folders) based on the creation/update time (last created/updated are displayed on top).

Could you please disable this feature following the below steps and let us know if the initial bookmarks order is available back?

1. Go to Settings-> About Firefox.
2. Tap 5 times on Firefox logo to enable the debug mode.
3. Go back to the Settings menu.
4. Select Secret Settings.
5. Disable "Enable Compose Bookmarks" option.
6. Restart the app and check the Bookmarks list.

Huh‽ That is the most unintuitive way to change a setting ever! Yes, that fixes it. Why is that even a thing? Shuffling my bookmarks should be a regular option at most and NEVER enabled by default!
Firefox generally likes to make arbitrary changes to people's setups or designs, for example recently the links on the desktop's "new tab" page got a lot thinner for some reason, wasting even more space than before. Some people want things to always stay the same, some people want to change/customise everything themselves, but nobody wants updates to change perfectly good behaviours or designs without any option to go back to before, so please stop doing that.
