Affected versions

  • Nightly 138.0a1

Tested platforms

  • Affected platforms: macOS 15
  • Unaffected platforms: Windows 11

Preconditions

  • Have at least one profile created with Profile Switching.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a new profile with a long name, like: LongggName1LongggName2LongggName3LongggName4LongggName5LongggName6LongggName7LongggName8LongggName9LongggName10LongggName11LongggNa
  2. Check the Profiles section in the Menu Bar.

Expected result

  • The profile name should be truncated consistently, as it is in the Hamburger menu—meaning it should be cropped at the end.

Actual result

  • On macOS, the profile name is truncated in the middle.

Regression range

  • This is not a regression; it's introduced with the Profile Switching feature.

Additional notes

  • On Windows 11, the truncation occurs at the end of the text string, as in the Profiles section from the Hamburger Menu.

PM: makes sense to infix the ellipsis in the middle, rather than truncate at the end.
