Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:136.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/136.0
Steps to reproduce:
Focus on the address bar and start typing in an address or search. For example, I can type in "fa" and the suggest dropdown will expand that to "facebook.com" for me. Then hit Command + Return
Actual results:
Firefox should open a new tab and navigate to "facebook.com"
Expected results:
Firefox began loading "fa.com" within the same tab that was already open

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Address Bar' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Please check the release notes. cmd+return was changed to canonize the typed string (add .com to it), if you want to open in a new tab you can use alt/option+Enter, or you can flip the preference browser.urlbar.ctrlCanonizesURLs to false in about:config to disable the canonization feature and restore the previous behavior.
