Steps to reproduce:
Many answers on support forums point to this article, which explained, for example, why Firefox may request access to your camera:
How does Firefox for Android use the permissions it requests?
https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-firefox-android-use-permissions-it-requests
However, someone has replaced it with a redirect to a new article that only covers marketing permissions: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/mobile-marketing-data.

P.S. (In case it helps) If a decision is made to revert the redirect, that can be done as follows:
- Go to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-firefox-android-use-permissions-it-requests/revision/279846
- Click Edit article based on this revision (this opens an Edit page with the content of the How does Firefox for Android use the permissions it requests? article, before it was redirected)
- Click Submit for Review and then Submit. The pending revision will then appear in the Recent Revisions list.
- The revision will need review and approval, which can be done from its history page.

Hi Alice, thank you for flagging. Following the Terms of Use update, several articles were replaced. The redirect is expected for this one in particular and will not be reverted.

Thanks for looking into this, Dayana but I'm still confused. The last version of the "How does Firefox for Android use the permissions it requests?" article had the search summary, "When installing Firefox, Android asks you to grant a number of permissions. This article explains what these permissions mean and how they are used." That article now redirects to a very different new article, Manage marketing data settings in Firefox for Android with the search summary, "Learn what marketing data Firefox collects on Android, how Mozilla uses it, and how to manage or opt out of marketing data sharing."
I was wondering, will the new marketing article be updated to include content from the redirected article?
There are also two other SUMO articles that include similar content that are still available, linked below. Could we link to the Firefox Focus for Android article in the Related content section of the new marketing article?
- How does Firefox Focus for Android use the permissions it requests? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-firefox-focus-android-use-permissions-it-requests
- How does Firefox Klar for Android use the permissions it requests? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-firefox-klar-android-use-permissions-it-requests
- How does Firefox for iOS use the permissions it requests? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-firefox-ios-use-permissions-it-requests

I believe the legal team requested the removal of all mentions of "no selling of data to third parties." However, the individuals responsible for this task ended up replacing entire pages without realizing that this could harm the support community.
For instance, if a user searches for information about camera permissions, finds an old link in a forum thread, and is then redirected to the new article about marketing partners, they may mistakenly assume there is a connection between the two topics (i.e., that Firefox is taking pictures of people and selling them).
Please consider restoring the replaced article(s) and editing only the relevant sections to include links to the new marketing and Terms of Use information.

I have a revision pending to the still available Firefox Focus permissions article to remove "We do not share your data with third parties" and replace it with updated content. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-does-firefox-focus-android-use-permissions-it-requests/history and discussion. Dayana, can you review?
The Firefox Klar permissions article may need a similar update, since it also has a FAQ that says "We do not share your data with third parties. ". The Firefox for iOS permissions and Firefox Focus for iOS permissions articles also need review.
