User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3b) Gecko/20030210 Running a search on amazon.com with Mozilla 1.3b causes the browser to hang indefinitely. Says "waiting for www.amazon.com" in the status bar forever. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Can you explain what do you mean with hang ? Do you mean that mozilla doesn't respond or that mozilla doesn't load the search results ?
It displays "Waiting for www.amazon.com" in the status bar. Nothing happens. The page never changes. But the browser does respond. It doesn't crash or anything. I can click on a link and it will go. It's just the search that never gets made.
may be related to bug 195630
Could be, but I can't reproduce bug 195630 here.
Just thought I'd add that a few others at the mozillazine forums have described the same problem. It's been suggested that it's linked to tabbrowser extensions. I have that extension installed. Perhaps someone could verify if there is indeed a dependency here?
any chance that you have livehttpheaders extension installed? That seemed to be the problem in bug 187794.

I can confirm that with tabbed browsing extensions (version 1.6.2003041303) enabled on my build of phoenix (built circa 20030414) then amazon searches (and one other web site that I can't remember right now) fail. When I disable that extension, and restart, then the searches go just fine. I didn't have this with an earlier build of phoenix (from sometime late march?) and with an earlier tabbed browsie extension (but can't remember that version, sorry, my laptop hard drive goofed up).
wfm with a current trunk build on win2k Please reopen if you see this with 1.4
