Thank you for relaying the message. I checked back on where the translation comes from, and it shows that it was from a few requests in October through November last year. The marketing team was targeting countries like India (written in Shahmukhi) but not Pakistan (written in Gurmukhi). Additionally Mozilla products, including Firefox browsers are localized by community volunteers in pa-IN or Shahmukhi. So even if the marketing content in various app stores are in the user's default language, they won't be able to download the browser in the matching script.

I'm unclear what the path forward is to fix this issue (this was the original issue filed, for context)
Could you please clarify? thanks!

I don't think there is a fix. Even if the marketing content matches the script, the browser is not in the language the user wants.

The listing is in Shahmukhi script, we don't support that anywhere.

The listing should be using the same script as the app, which is Gurmukhi. If that's something that we don't want to do, then we are better off restoring the English text.

sorry, didn't get you. Punjabi people in pakistan write punjabi with Shahmukhi script and Punjabi people in India (where Punjabi (gurmukhi) is official language of the state) writes it with Gurmukhi script or It was a typo?

Hello Kuldeep, I indeed got the two scripts mixed up in my comments above. Should be Gurmukhi script for the state of Punjabi in India - and this is the localization community we have: https://pontoon.mozilla.org/pa-IN/ localizing various products.
